Purpose: This research investigates the reception for electronic procurement (e-procurement) concept by those\nhotels in Egypt, examines how hoteliers perceive the challenges and benefits of e-procurement in the hotel industry. Also\nthis research focuses on identify the challenges and opportunities associated with the implementation of e-procurement.\nDesign/methodology/approach: A self-administered questionnaire with purchasing managers was designed as\nthe research instrument for collecting primary data. This questionnaire included items pertaining to illustrate purchasing\nmanagers� perceptions of applying e-procurement in hotels, challenges and benefits of using e-procurement, cost involved\nin implementing e-procurement, the kind of materials/products procure online, and purchasing managers prediction of\nreturn on investment when using e-procurement. Fifteen forms were distributed in fifteen investigated hotels; among\nthem 15 forms valid for analysis (100%) but between fifteen hotels are ten hotels conducted e-procurement process.\nFindings: The findings revealed that e-procurement impacts to supply chain management (SCM); time taking for\nemployees to adopt e-procurement system too long; ten of investigated hotels use e-procurement between one to\nabove four years; there are many benefits and advantages of conducting e-procurement in hotels (i.e. reducing costs,\ntime, and staff); Furniture�s, Fixtures and Equipment and food for the restaurant are the highest percentage of the kind\nof materials/products implemented by using e-procurement; and return of investment when using e-procurement are\nshort-term within one to two years.\nOriginality/value: Egyptian hoteliers illustrated that the benefits of e-procurement implementation are quality of\ngoods and services which will due to enhancing customer satisfaction, saving time and cost for Hotels....
The central theme is to investigate the motivation for choosing the destination and the strengths and weaknesses\nregarding the variables of hospitality and urban mobility in two cities: Boston and Porto Alegre. This comparative\ncase study had a quantitative nature with questionnaire application to a probabilistic sampling of 73 exchange\nstudents. The research was carried out between May and September 2016. On the matter of hospitality, both cities\nwere perceived in similar scenarios, because they didn�t claim suffering any kind of discrimination. On the other\nhand, most results from both cities regarding urban mobility shows distinct scenarios. Although both cities were\nperceived with affordable public transportation, Boston seemed to be better prepared than Porto Alegre....
The purpose of this article is to identify the aspects that relate to performance level; including\nenablers and inhibitors that influence leadership performance in the healthcare sector of the\nKingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). A grounded research methodology and an action research\napproach that was ââ?¬Ë?issue focusedââ?¬â?¢ were used to gain the perceptions of the participants from the\norganisational culture as empirical data. The overall trends observed in the collected data\nemphasize the important role of culture in shaping performance level. In addition, the\ndomination of factors related to the national culture and Islamic values has appeared the\ngreatest factor affecting leaders' decisions; it also forms their relations with subordinates as\nwell as their commitment to the organization. Viewed through this study, the effect of culture\naspects on the performance level in this important sector can be understood and new and\nintegrated solutions to overcome potential negative outcomes. Because of the chosen research\napproach, the research results may lack generalisability. Therefore, researchers are encouraged\nto test the proposed propositions further. The scope of this paper is to analyse and record the theoretical background of strategic management in the\ntourism industry and businesses, from the standpoint of education. The objective of this study is to present research\non strategic management in the critical sector of tourism and hospitality businesses in particular. Through a review of\nthe surveys carried out so far, we seek to analyses the research concern about education in tourism, as well as the\ncontribution of strategic management. We analyzed the international patientsââ?¬â?¢ characteristics according to specified variables, and to evaluate the\ncurrent status of Turkey in healthcare tourism. When healthcare tourism statistics in Turkey are examined, there\nwas approximately 20% decrease in 2015 and 8% decrease in 2016. The findings demonstrate that ââ?¬Å?medical\ntourist groupââ?¬Â do not have seasonal characteristics, but ââ?¬Å?tourist healthcare groupââ?¬Â was a highly significant seasonal\ndifference. Medical tourists were mostly admitted to Ophthalmology and Gynecology and Obstetrics clinics, and\ntourist healthcare group were mostly admitted A&E departments.
